Chester Twp, MI : Grant man dies in single car crash in Ottawa County early Tuesday morning, August 2, 2016

A 32-year-old Grant man died in a single car crash discovered by a commuter early Tuesday morning.

Gricel Vilchris Ramirez was pronounced dead at the scene after the crash was discovered about 6:30 a.m.

Ramirez was traveling east on Coolidge Street in a 2001 GMC Yukon, failed to stop at the stop sign at 40th Avenue and drove across the road and into a ditch, said Sgt. Steve Austin of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, Austin said.

The crash remains under investigation.
