Temple, N.H : Three people injured after truck, van collide on Route 101 in Temple on Wednesday morning, April 6, 2016
Three people were taken to hospitals after a pickup truck and a van collided head-on Wednesday morning on Route 101 in Temple.
The accident was reported about 6:30 a.m., just as the morning rush was getting underway.
State police said it appears that the pickup was heading east when the collision happened.
"Witnesses say it does appear that one vehicle did cross over the center line," Sgt. Steven Callinan said.
The investigation is still ongoing, but police said it looks like the pickup truck crossed over the line. There were two people inside the van and one person in the pickup.
"They were both entrapped," Callinan said. "They had leg injuries. The fire department extracted both occupants, both drivers of the vehicle, and they were transported out."
The injuries to the drivers were described as serious, and the van driver was flown to a Massachusetts hospital. The passenger in the van was also injured.
"The passenger had head injuries," Callinan said. "I believe he went up to Monadnock (Regional Hospital) via ground transportation."
Solar glare can be a problem in the area, but police said they don't believe that was a factor in the collision.
