Ellsworth,WI : Students unharmed in Pierce County school bus crash on October, Wednesday 11th 2017

Thirteen children were not harmed Wednesday morning when a semitrailer truck rear-ended their school bus in Pierce County.

Truck driver Daniel Neussendorfer, 50, of Sauk Rapids, Minn., was transported by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing, Minn., for treatment of undetermined injuries.

According to the Pierce County sheriff’s office, the Ellsworth school district bus was stopped on Highway 35 while attempting to make a left turn onto 150th Avenue near Bay City.

Neussendorfter’s semi, which also was traveling southbound on the highway, hit the bus from behind.

School bus driver Darrell Schuster, 74, and the children did not require medical attention, according to the sheriff’s office.

The crash is under investigation.
