Great Falls, MT : 1 killed in Phillips County crash on Friday, February 24, 2017

One person was killed in an early-morning crash Friday in Phillips County, the Montana Highway Patrol reported.

The crash took place at 5:10 a.m. near mile marker 0 on U.S. Highway 191 by Malta, the MHP said.

A 1999 Dodge Ram truck was southbound on Highway 191 when the driver failed to negotiate a turn, went off the road, through a fence and struck a tree. The vehicle then caught fire, the MHP said.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other information was immediately available.
