Waco, TX : Waco man killed in three-vehicle crash on Wednesday, July 5, 2017
A three-vehicle crash killed one man and severely injured another late Wednesday night near East Waco Drive and Business Highway 77, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.
Paul White, 31, of Waco was killed in the crash. He was traveling south on Business 77 in a GMC Yukon at a high rate-of-speed when his car jumped the median and struck a northbound Ford Escape, according to a preliminary investigation by police.
After the initial impact, the Ford was struck by a northbound Nissan Altima, Swanton said.
Justice of the Peace James Lee pronounced White dead at the scene, Swanton said. The driver of the Ford suffered serious injuries and was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center for treatment.
The driver and passenger in the Altima were treated and released at the scene, Swanton said.
Waco fire crews, accident reconstruction investigators, crime scene technicians and victim services officials assisted during the crash, which remains under investigation.
