Rochester, MN : Biker in good condition after collision with car on Monday night, September 26, 2016

A 20-year-old man was injured Monday night after the bicycle he was riding collided with a car.

The incident was reported about 8:05 p.m., sending responders to the intersection of 12th Street and Eighth Avenue Southeast.

According to the police report, a vehicle driven by Patrick Wehner, 51, of Blooming Prairie, had the green light while eastbound on 12th Street in the inside lane.

"The biker came out of nowhere," said Capt. John Sherwin. The rider hit the windshield and was thrown over the vehicle.

The rider, identified as Darrel Gee, of Rochester, was wearing dark clothing and had no reflectors on his bicycle, the report says.

Though he was unresponsive at the scene, officers spoke with Gee later at the hospital. He was unable to remember anything about the crash, Sherwin said.

Gee is listed in good condition this morning, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

No charges are expected to be filed.
