JUNEAU COUNTY, WI : 2 killed in fatal Juneau County crash near New Lisbon on Friday, 24th August 2018

Two people were killed in a fatal vehicle crash near New Lisbon Friday afternoon.

A Cadillac Escalade was travelling eastbound on I-90 at milepost 64 when the vehicle drifted off into the median and narrowly missed a guardrail at 2:00 p.m., according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

The Cadillac then continued parallel along the guardrail and vaulted off the incline of the Welch Prairie Road overpass. The Escalade then struck the overpass bridge before coming to rest.

The driver, an 81-year-old man from St. Charles, Illinois and the passenger, a 73-year-old woman were both killed. Their names are being withheld pending notification of family.

New Lisbon Fire and EMS, Juneau County Sheriff's Department and the Juneau Highway Department assisted at the scene.
