Pensacola, FL : One person killed and two others seriously injured in a crash on Gulf Beach Highway on Thursday afternoon, May 19, 2016

One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a crash on Gulf Beach Highway on Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. near the intersection of Gulf Beach Highway and Athens Avenue, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release. A box truck driven by 46-year old Jessie Wright collided head-on with a dump truck driven by 50-year-old Shawn Ford.

Ford, a Milton resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both Wright and his passenger, 32-year-old Ronald Brown, suffered serious injuries in the crash. Both were transported to Baptist Hospital for treatment.

The FHP is still investigating the incident. Charges are pending the completion of the investigation.
