SACRAMENTO, CA : Boy sent to hospital after car causes collision with sheriff's K9 vehicle on Sunday, 11th February 2024

A boy is in the hospital after a hit-and-run driver caused a collision with a Sacramento County sheriff's deputy's vehicle.

A spokesperson for the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened at Franklin Boulevard and Brookfield Drive around 10:15 p.m.

Officials said the deputy was heading north on Franklin through a green light when a southbound car tried to turn east onto Brookfield against a red light. The deputy's K9 vehicle was hit as a result.
