A local man was injured when his motorcycle collided with a pickup Wednesday, according to the Vermont State Police.
Jason Boyd, of Rutland, was driving a 2010 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on Route 30 when the motorcycle hit the back of a trailer being towed by a 2017 Ford F-350, police said.
John Schramm, 50, of Poultney, was driving south in the F-350. He was turning onto Ward Road at the time of the collision.
Police said speed appeared to be a factor in the crash, which was reported around 7:30 p.m., but the crash is still under investigation.
Boyd was taken by helicopter to the UVM Medical Center in Burlington to be treated for head and chest injuries. Schramm did not report any injuries, police said.
The truck was undamaged but the motorcycle was considered a total loss.
