BUCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA : Alton man killed in collision in Buckingham County on Tuesday, 28h May 2024
Virginia State Police says an Alton man was among four people killed in a crash that occurred in Buckingham County on May 28.
The crash occurred on Route 15 South around 11:40 a.m., near the intersection of Route 781. Troopers said a woman was driving a 2012 Ford Fusion on Route 11 when she crossed the center line and hit a 2022 Ford T350.
The Fusion then continued traveling the wrong way and crashed head-on into a 2021 Nissan. VSP said the impact of the collision caused the Nissan to run off the road where it overturned.
Investigators identified the driver of the Fusion as 77-year-old Erika M. Henshaw, from Dillwyn, and the passenger as 85-year-old Alvin P. Henshaw.
The driver of the Nissan was identified as 66-year-old Runping Z. Rhett, from Alton. The passenger in the car was 37-year-old Eric D. Truscott.
State police said all the victims died at the scene and were wearing their seatbelts.
We’re told the driver of the Ford T350 was not injured.
