Fort Smith, AR : Franklin County crash kills one on Tuesday, December 27th 2016

One person was killed and several others were injured in an accident Tuesday on Arkansas 23 in Franklin County.

Franklin County deputies, EMS and first responders were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on northbound Arkansas 23. The vehicle was driven by Danny Hunter, Jr., 24, of Ozark, who was traveling north around 7 p.m. Tuesday when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree, ejecting at least one of the passengers, according to the Arkansas State Police.

Jancee L. Harrison, 35, of Charleston was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Hunter and the other two passengers were taken to hospitals for treatment.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing, according to police.
