Emporia, KS : Ottawa man was taken to the hospital after he was involved in a two-vehicle accident on Thursday, June 8, 2017
An Ottawa man was taken to the hospital late Thursday morning after he was involved in a two-vehicle accident in downtown Emporia.
At 11:45 a.m., officers from the Emporia Police Department and Ambulance crews responded to the scene of an injury accident at the intersection of East Sixth Avenue and Mechanic Street.
The investigating officer reported a white passenger car driven by 42-year-old Bradley Miller of Ottawa was eastbound on East Sixth Avenue and attempted to turn north onto Mechanic Street when his vehicle struck a black passenger car that was westbound on East Sixth Avenue. The black passenger car was driven by 55-year-old William Carr of Emporia.
"Miller was transported by ambulance to Newman Regional Health after complaining of neck pain," Emporia Police Sergeant Lisa Sage said in a written release. "Miller was cited for failure to yield when turning left and for no proof of insurance."
Carr had no apparent injuries.
Both vehicles were towed from scene, according to the report. There were no other passengers in either vehicle and both drivers reported wearing their seatbelts.
