Tuscaloosa, AL : Two killed in Greene County crash on February, Thursday 1st 2018

A 2-year-old child who wasn’t restrained died after a crash in Greene County Thursday morning.

The driver of the truck died a short time later at Greene County Hospital, Alabama State Troopers said.

Troopers believe speed was a factor in the crash that happened on Alabama Highway 14 at 7:50 a.m.

Sawyerville resident Rolando Xavier Whitehead, 27, was driving a 2005 Honda Accord that left the roadway and struck an embankment. The child, whose name was not released, was thrown from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

Whitehead was not wearing a seat belt, trooper said.

The crash happened a mile and a half east of Eutaw and remains under investigation.
