Harrison County, MS : Barberton man injured in motorcycle crash on Route 800 in Harrison County on Thursday, 20th September 2018

A 70-year-old Barberton man sustained serious injuries when the motorcycle he was riding crashed on Route 800 in Harrison County Thursday afternoon.
James Norman was transported by Stat Medevac medical helicopter to Akron General Hospital following the accident at 2:20 p.m. near the intersection with Cadiz Road (U.S. 22).
A request for additional information regarding Norman’s condition had not been answered by Akron General staff prior to press time Friday. Norman reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries, but no other information was available.
According to the Steubenville post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Norman was riding a 2013 Harley Davidson west on Route 800 when he failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the right side of the roadway where he struck a fence post.
Antrim Community Volunteer Fire Department first responders and firefighters were dispatched to the scene, according to a report at the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office. They remained at the scene until approximately 4:13 p.m.
The Harley Davidson sustained extensive damage.
A patrol sergeant said charges are pending. Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected as a factor in the crash.
The accident remained under investigation by troopers with the Steubenville post.
