Honolulu ,HI : Toddler killed by reversing truck on Maui Friday afternoon ,July 17th 2015

A toddler has died after being hit by a truck that was backing up on the Veterans of Foreign Wars property on Maui.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports (http://bit.ly/1Vf8gZG ) that a 30-year-old Pukalani man backed into a one-year-old boy Friday afternoon while reversing a Chevrolet Silverado truck.

The boy had life-threatening injuries and was transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center, where he died.

The truck driver was not injured. Police are investigating whether speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
