Two people were killed early Sunday morning in a head-on crash on the Jamaicaway in Boston, Massachusetts state police said.
The two cars collided on the highway between Bynner and Perkins Street at around 3 a.m..
A 2007 BMW 530XI with three occupants struck a 2002 Toyota Camry with two occupants.
Two of the passengers from the BMW, a 44-year-old Everett woman and a 33-year-old Revere woman, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names were not immediately released.
The driver of the BMW, Jennifer Guzman, 26, of Hyde Park, was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The initial investigation of the crash indicates the BMW crossed the center lane markers and the vehicles collided head on, police said.
Neither of the two passengers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, according to investigators.
The driver of the Toyota, Cesar Viasus, 36, of Roslindale, also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
His passenger, who was listed in critical condition, has not yet been identified.
Both drivers are expected to survived.
No charges have been sought, but all aspects of the crash, including whether alcohol or excessive
speed were contributing factors, remain under investigation.
