Barkhamsted,CT : Man suffers serious injuries in Barkhamsted motorcycle crash on Sunday, 3rd May, 2020

A 42-year-old Hamden man suffered significant injuries Sunday afternoon when his Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with a pickup truck along Route 219 near the 318 intersection Sunday afternoon.

According to state police, Santos Garcias was southbound at about 2:45 p.m. when his motorcycle made contact in what state police described as a side swipe fashion with a Chevrolet pickup truck operated by 57-year-old Leah Alibozek of 631 West Hill Road in New Hartford.

Garcias lost control and was thrown. He was treated by a New Hartford Volunteer Ambulance crew at the scene and taken to Hartford Hospital by Life Star helicopter.

Alibozek and a passenger, 75-year-old Lawrence Alibozek, did not suffer serious injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
