Tucson,AZ : Man, 25, killed in motorcycle crash at midtown intersection on May,Wednesday 30th 2018
A man was killed after his motorcycle struck a van traveling at the intersection of East 29th Street and South Craycroft Road, closing the roadway for several hours around 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said the man was riding on a silver 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on Craycroft Road, while a red 2013 Dodge Caravan was in the left turn lane heading southbound.
The driver of the van initiated a left turn when the light cycled from green to red and the motorcyclist struck the van's front passenger side. The crash caused the man to be thrown from his vehicle.
Although he was wearing a helmet during the crash, he was pronounced dead at the scene, a news release said.
Tucson police identified the man as 25-year-old David Kennett.
Detectives determined speed nor impairment appears to be a factor in the crash as it relates to the driver of the van, the release said.
No further details about the fatal crash have been released.
