Nettleton, MS : 37-year-old Chris Hester and 36-year-old Brandy Magellan died when SUV runs off road, hits tree on County Road 122 early Sunday morning, Aug 30, 2015

Lee County sheriff's deputies say two Nettleton residents died when the SUV they were riding in ran off the road and struck a tree.

Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green tells the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal 37-year-old Chris Hester and 36-year-old Brandy Magellan were traveling on County Road 122 early Sunday morning, when the SUV Hester was driving left the road and collided with a tree.

Green says Hester and Magellan were pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing by Lee County Sheriff's Department.
