MCPHERSON COUNTY, KS : Lyons man killed in crash in the 100 block of Plum, just south of Arrowhead Road on Wednesday, 5th February, 2020

A 66-year-old Lyons man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in McPherson County in central Kansas, authorities said.

The fatality victim was identified as Robert Bishop.

The crash was reported at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Plum, just south of Arrowhead Road. The location was about 5 miles north of Hutchinson.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol’s online crash log, Bishop was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala south on Plum when for an unknown reason the car entered the west ditch. The car then re-entered the roadway then entered the east ditch before striking a tree.

Bishop was pronounced dead at the scene. The patrol said he was wearing a seat belt.
