St.Petersburg, FL : Motorcyclist dies in crash on Florida Highway Sunday September 27 2015.

A St. Petersburg man died early Sunday when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a Lealman fire truck responding to an emergency call, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Both the fire truck and William R. Ash, 48, were driving north around 1 a.m. on 66th Street toward 54th Avenue N. The truck, troopers reported, had its emergency lights and siren on. Ash was driving his motorcycle in the inside lane.
As the two vehicles neared the intersection at 54th Avenue N., Ash tried to pass the fire truck as it was turning left. The vehicles collided, according to a FHP report, and Ash died at the scene.
The driver of the fire truck, George Farrell, 59, of St. Petersburg, was not injured in the crash.
