KNOXVILLE, TN : 2 dead, 3 injured in multi-vehicle crash involving ambulance on Tennessee interstate on Saturday, 17th August 2024

Two people were killed and three others were injured in a deadly crash involving an ambulance in Tennessee, according to law enforcement.

I-40 East in Knoxville is back open after a deadly multi-vehicle crash shut down the interstates Saturday morning.

According to the Knoxville Police Department, officers responded to I-40 East just west of Midway Road just after 5:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Based on the investigation conducted at the scene, police say two eastbound vehicles were involved in a rear-end crash. One vehicle ended up in a travel lane, and the other vehicle overturned and rolled across all three lanes, landing off the road in the median.
