FRESNO, CA : Fresno County deputy injured in crash on Highway 180 on Tuesday, January 3rd 2017

A Fresno County sheriff’s deputy has been injured after a collision on Highway 180.

The Fresno Bee reports that the deputy was taken on Tuesday to a hospital with major injuries to his lower body. Fresno County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tony Botti says the deputy’s injuries are not life-threatening.

The Fresno Fire Department was able to rescue to the deputy, who was pinned in.

The other driver sustained minor injuries.
