Belmont, WI : Man injured in OWI crash on Highway 151 in the town of Belmont on Sunday night, Nov 29, 2015
A man suspected of drunken driving was injured Sunday night in a two-vehicle crash, according to a release from the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to Highway 151 in the town of Belmont at 5:04 p.m. on a report of a crash.
Investigators said two vehicles collided and Erik J. Wier, 19, of Coal Valley, Illinois, was taken by ambulance to Southwest Health Center in Platteville with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
Wier was cited for operating while intoxicated related to a restricted controlled substance.
The Platteville Fire Department, Southwest Health Ambulance Service, Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Platteville Campus police assisted at the scene.
