Greenville, NC : Sideswipe wreck hurts three people on April, Monday 10th 2017
Greenville, North Carolina
Three people were injured when two drivers traveling in opposite directions sideswiped each other, according to a weekly review of crashes investigated in Pitt County by the State Highway Patrol.
The wreck occurred about 6:56 p.m. on April on Sunny Side Road near Old Pactolus Road, about 4 1/2 miles east of Greenville.
Brandon Wiggins of Greenville was traveling south in a 2004 GMC SUV on Sunny Side Road, according to the report. Robert Casto of Clendenin was traveling north on the same road in a 2014 Ford pickup.
As Wiggins and Casto entered the curve, they reportedly sideswiped each other.
The responding trooper was unable to determine which driver crossed the centerline, according to the report.
The highway patrol reported that conflicting statements were provided and there was a lack of evidence, so the cause of the wreck was undetermined.
Both drivers and Casto’s passenger, Jennifer Casto of Clendenin, were injured in the wreck but refused treatment.
Each vehicle sustained $2,000 in damages.
