CLIMAX, GA : Julian woman dies in head-on crash on Thursday, 15th November 2018
A Julian woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal head-on collision that occurred,
According to the N.C. State Highway Patrol, troopers in Randolph County responded to the two-vehicle crash on N.C. 22 near Old Red Cross Road in Climax at approximately 5:50 p.m.
Jervis Oxendine, 82, of Climax, was driving a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and was traveling south on N.C. 22.
Jamie Hayes Coley, 39, of Julian was traveling north on N.C. 22 in a 2012 Toyota Corolla.
Oxendine left his lane and struck Coley’s vehicle head-on, the press release stated.
Oxendine was transported to Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro for non-life-threatening injuries, while Coley was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time no charges have been filed, however, the crash is still in an investigation stage. Heavy rain contributed to this crash as well.
