Omaha, NE : 2 in custody after chase, crash in northwest Omaha at the Target store near L street on Tuesday, 8th January 2019

Police took two people into custody after a chase through northwest Omaha Tuesday night.

Officers started following a stolen car following a reported shoplifting at the Target store near L street.The suspects crashed into an SUV at 120th and West Maple around 6:15 p.m.

Officers then chased the suspects on foot, leading to the capture of a man and a woman minutes later.

No one was seriously hurt during the chase or the crash.

Police reopened northbound lanes of 120th street around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday night.

"This was a dangerous felon we needed off the streets," Lieutenant Amy Oetter tweeted after the chase.
