Warren, IL : Three dead after car crash in Warren on Thursday, November 10, 2016

Three women are dead and a two-year-old boy is injured following a three car crash in the area of East Stagecoach Trail and North Canyon Park Road in Warren.

At 11:06 a.m. Thursday, a vehicle drive by Carol Anderson, 67, of Scales Mound sideswiped a car driven by Tracey Schmitz, 43, of Warren, according to a Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Office news release issued today. Anderson's vehicle then collided with an additional vehicle, driven by Susan Upmann, 61, of Apple River, the release states.

Schmitz and Upmann were both pronounced dead at the scene. Anderson was airlifted to St. Anthony's Hospital in Rockford, where she was later pronounced dead.

The 2-year-old boy was taken to Rockford Memorial Hospital to treat minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by the Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Office and the Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
