New Vineyard ,ME :Massachusetts man killed in western Maine crash at high rate of speed. on Sunday night ,August 30th 2015

A Massachusetts man was killed in a weekend crash in the town of New Vineyard Sunday night, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Department.

Two deputies said they spotted a car headed south on Route 27 at a high rate of speed.

When a deputy tried to pull the driver over, the car sped off, reaching speeds of 96 mph before deputies lost sight of the vehicle, according to the Sheriff's Department.

The two deputies continued to travel south and found the car had gone off the road, rolled over and crashed into a stone wall.

The driver, Jonathan Daellenbach, 29, of Reading, Massachusetts, died at the scene, according to investigators.

The crash remains under investigation.
