Two people killed in a Tuesday morning head-on collision in Dorchester County have been identified by the coroner’s office.
Zachary Godfrey, 37, from Summerville died after the automobile he was driving was hit head-on. Godfrey was struck by 87-year-old Fred Thompson, Dorchester County Coroner Paul Brouthers said. Thompson was also killed in the crash.
The crash happened just after 2:30 a.m. on Dorchester Road near Middleton Boulevard, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.
Master Trooper Gary Miller says a 2001 Chevrolet pick-up truck was going east on Dorchester Road when it went across the center line and hit a 2008 BMW sedan head-on.
