GARDEN PLAIN, KS : Cheney man dies after crashing motorcycle on Wednesday, November 16th 2016

A Cheney man was killed Wednesday afternoon when he crashed his motorcycle in Sedgwick County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Joshua Cape, 39, was riding a 2006 Harley Davidson FXDBI Street motorcycle east on U.S. 54 at 263rd Street at about 4:45 p.m. when for an unknown reason, he drifted into the median and struck a raised portion. The motorcycle then overturned and came to rest in the westbound lanes of traffic.

The Sedgwick County Forensics Lab investigated the scene.

Cape was wearing a helmet.
