GREER, SC : 1 dead after crashes into tractor trailer stopped on I-85 in Spartanburg Co. on Thursday, 19th April 2018

Troopers said one person has died after a car crashed into the back of a tractor trailer on I-85 in Spartanburg County Thursday night.

The crash happened around 10:15 p.m. near the Highway 101 exit in the northbound side of the interstate.

Troopers said the tractor trailer was stopped in traffic when the Hyundai sedan crashed into the trailer.

Troopers said the driver of the Hyundai was entrapped in the vehicle and was taken to the hospital after being freed by first responders.

The driver died at the hospital.

The coroner has not yet released the driver’s name.
