Kansas City ,MO : Pedestrian struck and killed on U.S. 71 Wednesday night, August 12th 2015

A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on U.S. 71 in Kansas City Wednesday night, according to police.

The incident was reported about 10 p.m. after the person was struck in the southbound lanes of U.S. 71 near Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard.

The pedestrian was an adult. No other details were immediately available.

The southbound lanes of U.S. 71 were closed after the accident Wednesday night.
