Prairieville, LA : One person died in single car crash on westbound near Prairieville Interstate 10 Saturday morning,August 1st,2015

Louisiana State Police are investigating a single car crash that killed a man from Mississippi.

According to State Police, the accident happened just after 3 a.m. Saturday morning on Interstate 10 westbound near Prairieville.

An initial investigation by State Police reveals that a 2002 Kia Spectra driven by 28-year-old Seth Orcutt of Lorman, Mississippi was driving on I-10 westbound when the vehicle ran off of the side of the road. The vehicle then hit a tree on the driver's side.

Although Orcutt was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, he suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.

State Police believe that Orcutt was impaired at the time of the accident. A toxicology test will be conducted by the Ascension Parish Coroner's Office.
