Knoxville, TN : Pedestrian hit and killed by a car in South Knox County on Monday morning, December 29, 2014

Knox County deputies identified a pedestrian hit and killed by a car on Chapman Highway Monday morning.

Deputies said Fred Peace, 53, of Knoxville was walking in the middle of the highway when a car hit him near East Hendron's Chapel Road in south Knox County shortly before 6 a.m. Officials said Peace went through the car's windshield. Authorities pronounced the 53-year-old dead at the scene.

Officials don't expect to file any charges against the driver, according to a sheriff's office release.
