Tampa , FL : 12- Years old boy killed and Two people injured in Single Car Crash after Saturn sedan crashed into the rear of a truck trailer parked at Schwend Inc on Sunday , January 18th 2015
Tampa police is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash on North 40th Street in Tampa.
The Saturn sedan was occupied by the driver and two passengers, including a 12-year-old boy. One of the adult passengers was pronounced dead on the the scene.
Tampa Fire Rescue responded to a single-car crash at 4020 N. 40th St. shortly after 3 p.m., Tampa Fire Rescue spokesman Jason Penny said. When the first responders arrived, they found the Saturn sedan crashed into the rear of a truck trailer parked at Schwend Inc.
Penny said it appeared the car was traveling south on 40th Street at a high rate of speed, went through a fence and impacted the rear of the tractor trailer.
The names of the victims have not been released.
The driver is a man in his 40s, who was taken to Tampa General Hospital as a trauma alert. A 12-year-old boy, who was in the back seat, was treated at the scene and released. A woman, who was the front seat passenger, was pronounced dead on the scene.
All three occupants were wearing seatbelts.
The incident remains under investigation.
