ROBINS, IA : Authorities ID sisters killed in chain-reaction crash on Thursday, 3rd November 2016

Authorities have identified two teenage sisters killed in a chain-reaction crash in Linn County that also injured their mother and another sister.

The crash occurred a little before 3:45 p.m. Thursday on the north side of Robins, killing 16-year-old Selena Apodaca and 13-year-old Isabella Severson. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says the girls were in the back seat of a car rear-ended by a pickup. The impact knocked the car into the rear of another pickup. The driver of the car who is also the mother of the girls, 37-year-old Jennifer Perez, and her 4-year-old daughter in the front seat were injured.

Authorities say the 16-year-old driver of one pickup and his 8-year-old brother were uninjured. The 35-year-old driver of the other pickup was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
