Vancouver, WA : One person injured after a three-car crash on state Highway 14 near Interstate 5 Tuesday morning, Oct 27, 2015
A three-car crash Tuesday morning sent a Camas man to the hospital in critical condition and stopped traffic heading west on state Highway 14 near Interstate 5.
All three vehicles were heading west on the highway, approaching the interstate, around 8:30 a.m., according to the Washington State Patrol.
John A. Richardson, 35, of Vancouver, allegedly failed to slow down for traffic ahead, and his car collided with the back end of another car, driven by Richard A. Jarvis, 51, of Camas.
The impact sent Jarvis’ car into the rear of a third car, driven by Julia A. Sander, 76, of Vancouver, state patrol said.
Only Jarvis was hurt, the state patrol said, and he was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for treatment. He was listed in critical condition Tuesday night.
The crash obstructed both westbound lanes of Highway 14 for a couple of hours, and the wreckage wasn’t cleared until after 11 a.m., according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The state patrol said inattention caused Richardson to hit Jarvis, and citations may be pending.
