Vacaville, CA : 25-year-old Camino woman died in 2-vehicle crash near Vacaville on Tuesday, April 5, 2016

A 25-year-old Camino woman was killed about 10:20 a.m. Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash at Lewis and Fry roads east of Vacaville and south of Elmira, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The CHP said the woman, whose identity was withheld pending family notification, was driving south on Lewis Road and “for unknown reasons . . . failed to stop (her) Honda Prelude at the posted stop sign and drove onto Fry Road,” according to a CHP report.

Her car was struck on the driver’s side by a westbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by Daniel Maldonado, 37, of Tracy, the CHP reported. The truck was traveling about 55 mph.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Maldonado was not hurt, the CHP reported.

It was not known if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
