Charlotte, NC : One person injured in wrong way crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 77 near LaSalle Street on Monday morning, Nov 2, 2015

The victim of a wrong-way crash involving a tractor-trailer, which shut down part of Interstate 77 southbound for hours Monday morning, has been identified.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, 36-year-old James Suas was injured in a collision around 2:30 a.m. on Interstate 77 near exit 12, LaSalle Street.

Officials say Suas was driving the wrong way when he crashed into the side of a tractor-trailer.He was ejected and is in critical condition, officials say.

Troopers say they are trying to subpoena Suas' medical records to see if alcohol was a factor in the crash.

By 6:40 a.m., all lanes were back open.
