Gulfport, MS : Pedestrian killed in car accident on Highway 49 on Landon Road and Community Road on Friday morning, March 11, 2016

A pedestrian walking on Highway 49 was hit by a car and died Friday morning.

Sgt. Damon McDaniel with the Gulfport Police Department reports the accident happened between Landon Road and Community Road around 2 a.m.

McDaniel said the victim died at the scene. The person's identity has not been released yet.
