Jacksonville, FL : Police vehicle involved in crash in Northwest Jacksonville on Thursday night, January 8, 2015

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded Thursday night to a reported crash with injuries involving a JSO vehicle at New Kings Road and Soutel Drive in Northwest Jacksonville.

The officer had a green light to turn left on to Soutel when another car ran a red light, according to JSO Public Information Officer Christian Hancock. Officer Hashan Morgan, who has been on the force for a year, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The woman driving the car that hit the JSO officer was still on scene not complaining of any injuries. That driver may face charges, Hancock said.

Two northbound lanes and one northbound lane of New Kings Road and all lanes of Soutel Drive were closed as crews responded to the scene.
