A local man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash early Sunday morning.
At 12:07 a.m. Sunday, Rochester Police, Fire and Frisbie EMS responded to the area of 1140 Salmon Falls Road and Cross Road for the report of a single motorcycle crash, Rochester Police said in a statement.
According to police, a 2017 Harley-Davidson FXSB operated by Barry Charmichael, 31, of Rochester, was traveling northwest on Salmon Falls Road when the motorcycle left the paved portion of the road and Charmichael lost control after attempting to negotiate a corner. The motorcycle struck a road sign and the remnants of an unused utility pole. Charmichael was not wearing a helmet.
Charmichael was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, and later to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for serious, but non-life threatening injuries, police said. The motorcycle sustained significant damage and was towed from the scene.
The crash remains under investigation, police said. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact Officer Bailey at 603-330-7128.
