Utica,NY: Boonville man dies in logging accident on November, Thursday 9th 2017

A Boonville man was killed in a logging accident Thursday in Vienna, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were sent to Elpis Road at approx. 1:26 p.m. and found Gilbert Martin, 72, unresponsive. He had sustained injuries from an apparent logging accident, deputies said.

The Camden Fire Department took Martin from the wooded area and he was taken to Rome Hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
