ATLANTA, GA : A woman was killed following a crash on Sunday, May 28, 2017

A woman was killed following a crash that involved a man attempting to flee from police.

The incident occurred at the intersection of McDaniel Street and Peter Street, Sunday evening.According to authorities, 25 year-old Demarcus Mosley ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle. The passenger in the second vehicle, identified as 32 year-old Janae Andrea Rice, was killed.

A friend of the victim who was on the scene of the crash was visibly upset when she heard the news of her friend's death. She said Rice was visiting from Stockton, California.

"She is a spiritual person, humble, loving. She has a son. His father is already deceased so he was all she had," said Reknesha Conner.

Both drivers were treated for minor injuries.
