Marietta, GA : one student injured in bus collision on an interstate northwest of Atlanta on Tuesday, April 12, 2016

Officials say at least one student was hurt when a school bus was involved in a crash on an interstate northwest of Atlanta.

Cobb County Schools spokeswoman Lauretta Hannon said about 55 Powers Ferry Elementary students were riding on the bus when the collision happened shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday, near the Delk Road exit on Interstate 75.

Hannon tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that one student was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. She said 10 other students planned to see a school nurse "just to be safe."
