Mooresville ,NC : 17 - Years old boy was killed by Car after He lost Control and crashed on Saturday midnight, December 13th 2014

Investigators said Colt Murdock, 16, was hit and killed by a car after he lost control and crashed his moped on Rinehardt Road in Mooresville just after midnight.

Murdock was a student at South Iredell High School.

“I know I can’t bring him back,” said Doug Murdock, who is Colt’s father.“I woke up in the middle of the night last night and just had a feeling something was wrong. I kicked off the covers and watched some television and then the officers knocked on my door. I cried all the way to the hospital.”

Investigators spent the day Saturday reconstructing the accident. They said it appears Murdock was riding home when he somehow lost control of his moped and crashed.

A neighbor told police he ran outside to help Colt who was lying in the road but couldn’t get an oncoming car to stop in time.

Police said Colt died from his injuries while being transported to Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.
