CLERMONT, FL : A person is dead after a three-vehicle crash in Clermont on Tuesday, August 1, 2017

Police were called to the scene at the intersection of State Road 50 and 5th Street around 4 p.m.

According to authorities, vehicles described as a gray Nissan, a silver Buick and a white Toyato were involved in the crash.

89-year-old Calliope Popolizio and Madelyn Gailey were taken to South Lake ER. Poplizio was pronounced dead at a hospital. A 1 and 9-year-old were taken to Winnie Palmer Hospital for injuries sustained during the crash.

Four other juveniles and an adult were also involved in the crash but were not injured.

Police aren't sure who is at fault and have not released the name of the person who died.
