Palm Coast, FL : One woman killed and two others including a 5-year-old child seriously injured in a red-light crash Saturday night along State Road 100 in Flagler County on October 18, 2014
A Palm Coast woman was killed and her two passengers, including a 5-year-old girl, were badly injured Saturday night after the vehicle they were driving in was struck by a red-light runner along State Road 100.
Diane Upton, 58, was pronounced dead at the scene not long after the 9:40 p.m. crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Kalyn Upton, 24, of Daytona Beach, and Vivian Upton, 5, were transported to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach in serious condition.
Rebecca Lawless, 26, of Palm Coast, was driving westbound on SR 100 approaching a red light at the intersection of Landing Boulevard in her 2002 Toyota sedan. At the same time, Diane Upton was traveling south on Landing Boulevard and through a green light to cross SR 100.
Lawless failed to stop for the red light. The front of her vehicle struck Diane Upton’s 2005 Chrysler sedan, killing her and injuring her passengers.
Diane Upton was pronounced dead at the scene by Flagler County Fire Rescue personnel.
Lawless was uninjured. Her toxicology report and possible charges are pending, FHP said.
